CAR magazine rates SVX one of the "coolest cars"!!!

I just picked up this months issue of Car magazine (imported from England). It features an article on the top 100 coolest cars. Sure enough, on page 93 is number 89, the Subaru SVX! Don't you love it when you find stuff like this??? It's so nice to see the SVX get the credit it deserves!

Good find robricc! I can't believe the R34 Skyline GT-R was just #84?! That car is cool as anything and has a nasty side too!

I agree, why the heck is the R34 Skyline so LOW, that car is like the symbol of Japanese Perfection in engineering, man, the stories i've heard of the potential of the RB26 engine is just unbelieveable, I didn't see the MK4 Toyota Supra on there either!, and i think the SVX should definiteley be higher up there too!!!!

The Torino was an attempt by Ford to draw buyers away the big-block big guns like the Dodge Charger. Ford only sold it for the '70 and '71 model years before it went away...

The most sought after Torino is the limited edition Torino Cobra which came with a 429 CI (7.2L! ) and packed 360hp and about 480 ft-lbs of torque! The engine had an extremely high 10.5:1 compression ratio and needed a full tune-up every 5-10,000 miles!

Not my cup-of-tea, but an impressive muscle car none-the-less...

Torino's were produced from 1968 until 1976. My brother used to have a 69 GT and my parents used to have a 70 model. It was the first and last car the ever bought new.The 70 was a 302 powered sedan.
It was the car I learned to drive in and take my drivers test in. I really used to punish that car. Brings back lot's of memories.

I never knew that. I was only familiar with the '70 & '71 model years.

Since your family members owned Torinos, how was the reliability? I heard the high compression 429 engines needed tuning often - did the 302 engine need similar maintenance?

McLaren F1 at number 11? Mini Cooper even on the list? Morris Traveler?

Would be nice to see the complete list...
