my green maybe reborn black

today, i found a black svx. body in good shape, most interior intact. no engine, no tranny, no steering rack and pinion, short 2 rear struts, no stereo cage, no airbag, cracked windshield.

i'm thinking of buying that and putting green's engine in there and maybe a 5 speed. i have nearly everything to make her running....if they'll sell it to me, i'll bring green back to life as an ebony

....since i've been working outside on my car (due to the damn citation) my neighbors have made themselves scarce...shame...nice weather, and besides, they only have to fear at night

How do you plan on registering it then? Even if you go to the DMV and it has been totalled out(which their is a 99% chance of) then how do you intend to reregister it ?

if the body's in good shape, i would assume the tranny died and the PO decided to sell some of its parts like the engine, etc. doesn't sound like it's been in an accident so it shouldn't have a salvage title. i don't understand why it doesn't have a title at all.

Harry, since this is more or less a resurrected beater anyway, why not go all out and make it a rear-wheel driver? Your street racer minimalist. Think of the performance gains of maybe 170hp going to the wheels instead of 140hp of an AWD SVX with no other mods but rear wheel drive. Add to that some weight loss, nitrous and a suspension kit and you would have one hell of a dragstrip/autocross/drifting monster on your hands. Now that sounds like a fun and worhty project to me! Hell, if I could afford a newer LSI as my "good" car, I would keep my existing LS and do it to that one.
