I wonder if he still has that wheelbarrow full of parts...

I also wonder, since he said the car was 'very rare' in NZ, what reason he had for picking the EG33. It's going to be a pain to get parts for...not that it'll need any.

It will be real interesting if seawater is used to cool the aluminum engine. Zinc cathode?

This was a big topic on USMB a little while back.
http://www.ultimatesubaru.net/usmb/f...&highlight=svx

There's a link to another forum in there with a very long thread on a jetboat board about the whole process. Pretty cool.

If I ever redo an SVX engine the valve covers will be black crinkle paint, ala 426 hemi. Actually, the block wouldn't look that bad in hemi orange either. Hehe.

I wouldn't. I'm not usually a fan of painted engines. Painting a block, in my opinion, is done to dress up something that was otherwise not styled. The EG33, and the bay it was placed in, was carefully considered and is presented very well, I think.

Now, of course, this marine EG33 isn't in the engine bay it was built for, and the styled intake plenum (and accessories) isn't hiding the block like it usually does. Still, I'm not a fan of painting the thing. I dunno why.
