Hello all. Just wanted to post that the self diagnostic computer is complaining of a bad EGR Solenoid or circuit and bad air sensor or circuit. I think the problems could be one and the same. I've entirely too busy to do anything about it lately, but I'll keep you all posted. P.S., the so called "Subaru Experts" in this area are frauds. I've been burned too many times, so I'm trying to save some money and pain by doing this myself. I just blew $630 on a new radiator, and I don't have any more to spend on car repairs.

Well, the computer was right. A bad air sensor was causing the engine to die and a bad EGR solenoid was causing the "Check Engine" light to illuminate sometimes and not illuminate other times, creating the illusion that the computer was going bad. Now I'm broke again, but at least she'll run really nice when she gets out of the car hospital. :-)
Thanks again everyone! God bless, - Doshey |
