<bxsvx> the shavings are from the perrin lightweight pulley which was eating the sides of the timing belt cover <bxsvx> or the timing belt not really sure <bxsvx> but the shavings are definitely from the crankshaft pulley yes quite. in my case the cover was being ripped by both the belt and the light pulley. you might try tightening the cover as it has a tendency to come lose. i dont get why you have shavings like that though. i didnt get them.
