The Dragon
Here is a lone SVX on the Dragon the following weekend. It is on page 5. Anyone from the network?
http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/...&ts=1067387847 Unfortunately, kilboy....the guy who takes pictures of bikes and cars at Deal's Gap....was in Alabama the weekend you guys did the twistys. I think I'll wait for the leaves to fall and the bikes to be put up for the winter....then Barry and I will take the Focus down there for a run. Don

Excellent eagle eyes there Ron. That is my car cutting up the Dragon, but this time I am the passenger. I let a friend of mine carve the dragon in my SVX and now he's hooked on Subbies.
I've been soloing the dragon every Saturday in the month of October (except for that weekend) for some strange reason. The Dragon to me is like crack to a junkie. Think i'm done with the dragon for this year, but you never know, there's a meet Nov. 1 of evo8's and some sti's. i just may have to show up to give them a run for their money . Keep the shiny side up, my friend. That's too cherry a car to get skid marks all over the moon roof. Ron (Cherry Eagle-Eye, Savin' Tonight).

re: i agree
i agree with you ron and i'm definitely keeping the rubber to the ground. i love my baby too much to make a mess out of her. i've actually haven't driven her hard to keep her in near mint condition. i'd like to purchase a svx that's been a bit abused and restore her to use for a bit harder driving.
the cherohala is where i flipped. the dragon is not actually that bad. i go up to the north georgia mountains quite often and there are a few roads similar to the dragon near where i live that i frequently drive. i know how the car handles around 30-50mph on those roads, but not on the cherohala where speeds can push up to 70mph +++. i went and visited that spot i flipped also and remembered recovering then losing it again because of a turn that was coming up. if there wasn't that turn, i'd still have my original baby . i'm not sure my 2nd svx has been broken in, but my first drove and handled much better. i went to the shop today to get my oil changed and checked out the struts. i have 3 leaky struts. i wonder if that could be the culprit. i'll know soon enough. looking for good struts now |
