WRX against SVX

Has ANYONE raced a WRX before? Because my ex(I have no idea what he is anymore) thinks SO highly about his WRX and frankly it's pissing me off.
Do I have a chance at beating him, if I race?

He thinks he's hot F-ing **** in his car, that he didn't pay for.
I want to show him that he ISN"T hot ****, and he has to at least be half way smart to race.............

Anyhow, I'm just in a bad mood and wanted to vent. I would like to scream, but that won't work too well on here, now would it?

I'm afraid that he'll probably hand you your lunch in a 0-40 sprint... over 40 an up to about 120 you'll whip his arse. However, if you're doing a 0-60 sprint then chances are he'll probably beat you (barely).

The WRX is a small and raucous car that is designed for acceleration and tight handling. It's got loads of torque, plenty of HP and weighs significantly less than the SVX does.

Now... try cruising at 100 in a WRX for 4 hours straight... I'm willing to bet most people would step out of the WRX feeling like they just went a round against Mike Tyson (bleeding ears and all...), the SVX driver will not want to stop and will just keep driving. Believe me, I know... I've done it in both!

I raced one when my car was totally stock. From about 15-85 mph. It was dead even the whole way until about 70 when I started to pull away. I had the impression that it was an AT because I expected to lose. Especially from a rolling start. All that I have read in objective car reviews says that WRXs are gutless at low revs because of turbo lag. Most prefer the RS for driveablility.

Unless he is totally clueless about using a clutch, he'll beat you in a street race. On mountain roads, you have a chance though.

Standard WRX does 0-60 in roughly 5.9 to 6.2 with a top end of between 130 and 143 (depending on your source). That's if it was stock. You can take him in top speed but not to 60 unless he has an STi or has modified a regular WRX.

My friend and i have raced many a times. in a straight line it would take you probably more then a few minutes to catch him when he finaly stops climbing... And that is with the 5spd....the at would just be rediculously worse. Once again this isnt on paper or on a website or anything, im telling you from experience.

that car must have been running on 86 octane, because my wife in her auto WRX will walk away from me like i'm standing still at those speeds. it pisses me off to no end!

I raced my buddys REX when he 1st got it. killed me off the line, but from there he didn't really pull that hard. Pulls on the highway, svx won. however, now he's got it all tricked out, so he pulls a little bit on me...but oh well. I've got the cool windows and everyone mistakes him for a neon
