Tires are too important an item (the only things connecting you & your car to the ground) to allow the Sears type technicians to put them on your car.

I also stand over them when they put a battery in.
I would agree 100%. Here's the problem: In madison, we USED to have an NTB, it freaking ruled. Good prices, awesome service, free rotation no matter where you bought the tires. Then sears lost business, so they CLOSED the NTB in madison, and now the only equatable place is sears. Basically, Sears killed NTB, and now I have to pay to get my tires rotated, pay to for this pay for that, it f*cking SUCKS. Pardon my language, but I hate it when another company takes over some company and offers inferior services, its just plain STUPID. If anything the service should improve.

Ca$h,

Hop on your MAC and look up NTB on the Web. Find the one nearest to you (Madison, WI).

PS: Try to go easy on the language. It only hurts you eventually.

Now this is a problem I dont think I've ever heard of. I'm not a tire guys and dont know much about them, but how would you spot when your tires are backwards. What makes them look funny, as opposed to the correct look?

If they are directional tires the tread will have a noticable direction it should run it, also will be on the tire what direction of rotation it should run in. Most all season tires are not directional, performance tires normaly are. The thing that will happen alot with the SVX is they put the wheels on backwards, i stand in the work bay and make sure they dont screw up.

Last time one of the guy goes to put the wheel on the wrong side, i tell him to put it on the other side so he goes over to his boss and says that they other guy put the tire on wrong, the boss had to explain to this guy that the tires were not directional, was kinda funny.

tires in direction...

Hello,

Check the sidewall first,

Directional tires usually have an arrow to show which side is to the outside (assymetrical) or which direction they should rotate (directional). [on the sidewall]

Oddly enough the correct direction for V shaped directionals are sometimes run backwards on go-kart rains or race tires. Somebody figures he/she has the hot ticket
Hope this helps

I agree with you there.

PLUS, it wouldn't have even taken that long. All they'd need to do would be jack the car up, take off 2 wheels, dismount the tires, remount them correctly, and put the wheels back on. 15 minutes TOPS.
When you dismount/remount the tires, it's a good idea to get them rebalanced (will the weights even stay on when you dismount a tire?). So a bit longer than 15 mintutes...
