HID fog light help
Ok, so I ordered a couple sets of HID's from DDM and they finally came yesterday. I installed them in my car and the low beams work fine, but the fog lights are giving me fits. Now, the fogs were working just fine before the install so you'd think it would be easy, but no. I can't get them to fire no matter what I do. They do fire when I connect them to the battery posts, but not when they're wired in like they're supposed to be. Is the switch on the negative side? Because the positive to the bulb is always hot. Also, you seem to be able to turn the switch on for the fogs on whenever you want, lights on or off, key in or out, you press it, and the light comes on. I've tried just about everything i can think of but I still can't get them to work.
So, um, help? On a happier note, 55w 10,000k's in the low beams are amazing. |

I think they are the same as the DMM headlights, you have to reverse the power to the the unit. The switch is on the neg. Harvey.

Why on earth would you want headlights with that much hue to them? |

Re: HID fog light help
I'll try to remember my camera tomorrow, but because it's 55w, its no where near as bad as you'd think. It's probably comprable to a standard 7000k bulb. I was actually hoping for a bit more hue, but then again no one ever accused me of being too smart

Make sure you get the metal piece that secures the bulb in place correctly.

Re: HID fog light help
You use a spade connector for the kit, so the metal piece won't make a difference.
Yeah, I waited about 3 weeks for mine, but for the price I'll deal with it. And where is the fog light relay? I'm thinking this might be a culprit. If it's not I'm just going to re-wire the fog lights. |
