O/T You shall go to the ball[game]

Those US soccer boys did a good job on Portugal in the World Cup. That was a big hill to climb, even with the injuries.

"Sleeping giant awakes" was one headline I saw. Hope so. Good to see your boys do well, and they deserve your support.

Randy, I suspect you are quietly confident, we talked about this before. Nice to see they are coming good. No lack of self belief.

Hope they do well, strange feeling to have the US as underdogs, in any sport.

Joe

Yes, Joe. I don't follow soccer, er, football, er, futbol, er, um, well, you know, but, heard the news this morning on the way to work and almost ran off the road. Portugal of all teams.

So, look out, Joe, I'm still looking for the Irish to come up with a basketball team that will give the U.S. "Dream Team" a run for its money . . . it *could* happen.

All Black

and proud of it , eh, Trevor?

Well, Munster came second in the European final [again] last week. We have the talent here, and we don't turn to jelly when the All Blacks visit. They're there to be beaten.

A good squad though, that Lomhu.

Joe

This damn World Cup is turning me into an insomniac.

My brother and I have stayed up well into the night watching the games, and waking up WAY too early to watch the last game.

It's always fun to see such a widely watched event. I think the stats for last year's final game were somewhere in the 28 million viewers range.

Basketball

Hey look you guys!

Never thought I'd see the day but part of our meagre 4m. population is not doing too badly at this round bouncy ball game of yours and wearing traditional black while doing it. It also appears that their Haka has gone down well without frightening you all too much up there.

Hooooraaah, if they keep going this well we might even win another game or two against some of the best in the world but not THE best.

I am a big football person. I get to watch the games on digital cable (thank god). I get to watch some rugby matches too. Just wish they air that more often.

Have you watched the USA Dream Team these past couple of days. An Irish team probably could have beat them! They have lost 2 out of 2 so far. What happened to the good ole days when you use to see nothin but the Dream Team schoolin all these other countries? It was like watching the Harlem Globetrotters....they just played with the other team! It was a fun and exciting time to watch it. But not anymore.

Thumbs up Basketball

Altough I live in Austria and we are NOT a basketball country, I love this sport.
I always watch the NBA games late at night here and I also watched the game USA vs. Argentina.

I was impressed of how Argentina played this game. They did a pretty good job.

But the US-Boys still have the most attractive gameplay.
