whistling sound on acceleration

Hey guys I've just started noticing a whistling sound on acceleration. The car runs fine no problems. I'm thinking it might be a fuel injector or fuel pump. Someone suggested a PCV valve... Any ideas...
Thanks

I have a whistling sound sometimes but it comes from the pass. side under the glovebox so it's related to the heater.

I'm having the same problem when I accelerate. My friend says it sounds like I have a turbo... This was the sound I tried to describe earlier as a high pitched squeal, but it is more of a whistle.

I also have the same exact sound from the same place, but on a 91 accord. Noticed it a few weeks after I bought it 3 years ago, and just noticed it again a few weeks ago. Can't hear it with the radio on though, or in my case, a loud exhaust.

Yea a turbo kicking in is a better example of the sound. Not realy going to worry about it unless it gets worse or the car starts acting up... I agree the radio, or in my case Springsteen CD pretty much drowns it out

hi guys i'm new here, only had my SVX a few weeks, but just after i got it i heard a sound like what you guys are describing, and completly by accedent i found that a couple of the intake manifold bolts were very loose. i tightened them up and the sound went away. i dont know if this is the case with your cars but you might want to have a look anyway. hope this helps.

Thanks are due. Excellent post from a new member and probably spot on, as loose manifold bolts have been reported on quite a few occasions. Please continue with your observations.

My tranny makes a noise like that ..cept it is VERY loud!

It sounds like a jet turbine spooling up when I get on the throttle on the highway ..yeah, I'm not driving it much until I get a "pinch hitter"
