Thumbs down Hyundai hacks off SVX

Well, really: saw this fat MPV thing on the M40 the other day with Belgian plates - it was so pig ugly I glanced at it, and there on the back end was the moniker 'SVX'. How did that happen? Was it a chalk and cheese resolution - one is, as we know, an elegant sports coupe with 4 WD, a boxer engine, four seats, a sublime gearbox (!), 25 mpg and 150 odd mph, and the other is an unmentionable diesel blob, code named H1, for H1deous. Or have Subaru abandoned us as we are no longer made? Shoot on sight, I say.

That's a nasty piece of work by any standards. How dare they sully the name of SVX.

I drove a Hyundai once: Five years old, 8000 miles on the clock, one elderly lady owner, one totally gutless two litre engine. The interior trim was falling apart and when I made the mistake of opening the electric sunroof, bits of the mechanism landed in my lap. I've bought better quality items in a £1 store.

I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone would buy a car that is crap in every respect.

Yeah. Five speeds: Slow, Slower, Even Slower, Hardly moving and Stopped.

Haha, my country is full of these vans, each time I see the "SVX" logo on their trunk, I laugh with irony

We can hardly blame the Koreans for assault with a dead weapon here. The Brits were the first to start it. Countless times I have d or ebayed SVX, and came up with some kind of special edition Land Rover. I mean, come on, they don't get any more boxy or agricultural than a Land Rover.

And then again, the French need to be taken down a peg or two, with their Alpinestars SVX Ski Boots Rear entry boots, no doubt.
