My phone is so old ( 2002 model)...and has no features to it so i dont think they would be able to hack into it like that. Thats more for the newer type phones and stuff. I am not one to give a crap about how old a phone is so long as it works....thats why ive stuck with this one for so long.

I thought you were talking about a regular line phone - not a cell phone. That is easy. I know what happened by what you explained now. You spilled your drink (remember - you were drunk on your butt) on it and that took care of it. When you answered, it make a connection with the moisture and that is what made it die.

I do remember what happened last night so i wasn't that drunk. And at the time of the call i was only on my first corona so i wasn't drunk. I honestly do not remember the phone coming into contact with any moisture at all. I seriously just dont get it. Everything else on the phone works properly except it says no serivce and i can't make or get any calls. I dont get it...but the guy at the tech desk at verizon said that he is 100% sure its caused by water damage. So i guess i have to trust that because he knows better than I do.
