Unhappy someone should just shoot me now...

ok...so i go pick my svx up today after they replaced the brakes and the rack and pinion that i told them not to install. i start her up and there's this nice clunking sound coming from the engine...i think to myself just drive it off. i get like 200 feet away and it's turned into a full fledged hammering sound...my car doesn't accelerate...i stop...the car shuts off. it sounds like they left a tool in it or something...but the bad part is, they didn't. all's i know is that it didn't sound like that when i brought it in and after i brought it back in (i never left the parking lot) there were five guys standed around my car, and two of them threw their hands up in the air to say without words 'f*ck if i know what it is.' so now they're keeping my svx...for who knows how long...and i get some crummy p.o.s. rental...i am so beyond distressed right now... ::reaches for gun to shoot mechanics::

i stole it i don't have a clue what is making the noise either...it's a really loud knocking...it's either engine or tranny. the car has trouble engaging gears...doesn't want to shift. at idle it wavers from stalling to just under 1000 rpms. more you rev...more it knocks...and the louder it gets. it's so loud you have to cover your ears. stick it in neutal, does the same thing...revving gets more knocking and increased volume. *sigh* i'm going to go cry now

Sounds like they were doing some joy riding and killed your car.

Andrew,
You know I can relate after my month-long ordeal. We're going to have to form a coalition: "Pissed SVXers of the World, Unite!"

Good luck!

Good luck!
I have a correction for ya..."Pissed and Armed SVXers of the World, Unite!" Shop still has my car...no word from them yet...I'm just hoping it's something simple, and they're just stupid. I highly doubt that's it tho...I'll let ya know what's up with it when I find out tho. I have a feeling I'll be needing all the luck I can get my hands on.

Yeah they'll probably say that for a week because it will take that long for them to find an excuse to tell you why they need it longer.

I believe they must have a script by the phone. It's the same one my tranny guys had. Amazing.

You go in for brakes and get a rack for free. Now that is a deal.

Maybe we could form a lobby group and start calling this repair shop.
Push them along for you some.

They owe you a car. Man

With a new engine and tranny.

Maybe a club SVX loaner car. RJ can keep it when it's not in use. Relay transport member to member across the country.
