Dead SVX!
I have been having problems starting my car for the past week, but I sure didn't think it was the starter, I figured it needed new plugs or something like that.....
So I Was down at Hollywood Lights in South Seattle this morning, jumped in the car to go, turned the key and nothing.....all lights were on, everything worked....except the starter. What a pain in the ass.....couldn't contact anyone except my landlord's wife...grumble....she picked me up and took me to the car rental place near the shop....had to have the car towed (flatbed) to the shop....cost me $155...grumble....then the cost of the rental...grumble....then found out the shop can't work on the car until Monday....more grumbling (may be my stomach tho  )Oh well...will keep you all posted.

Your SVX is not dead, it is just not feeling well
 How is the battery? It is not uncommon for the lights, HVAC fan, radio, etc to work but the starter requires "more juice" than these and will result in the symptoms you have described. Start with the easy stuff first and go from there. Keep us posted, Rob Missoula MT

I would still check out the battery. I have had almost new batteries fail, or not charge or keep a charge.

Just a fyi.... as long as we are owners of "unique" automobiles, it might pay to look into AAA membership, as the yearly dues are offset by a single tow. (figured that out when I owned audis, in the 80's) not there is a song title....
