what do you guys think of.... a 95 cherokee?

saw a 95 cherokee for like 5k tonight in madison.... thinking about going there tmr to see if i can talk the price down... or to trade in my mr2 plus cash for a bigger car.... (although i'd much rather sell the mr2 on ebay or something, since there are quite a lot of mods done on the 2 and dealers really don't give a darn when they calculate for trade in value...)

anyone knows about reliability issues with these cars?

waiting around for the svx to be fixed sucks

check the miles and also look for rear main seal leaks. Thats one of the only main problems they had with the 4.0 that and the problem with the stock headers cracking after a while, but thats a reason for Headers Other than that as long as its been taken care of they are great vehicles.

Thumbs up

Miles make no difference when it comes to Jeeps. I owned 3 in the past (straight 6) and they went forever without any engine problems.

The Cherokee isnt a bad truck. I got to drive one that had been converted to a Paramedic truck, and it was pretty nice. It just happened to be snowing good that day, and it performed very nicely in the white stuff.

I can vouch for Jeeps too... All that remember "Stalker" will know what I'm talking about... That thing went for over 30,000 miles of my abuse without any problems... then I had to sell it... My budget just couldn't support an SVX and a Jeep

You can't really knock the Cherokee, great value in off road ability.

200K on a 4.0L is just broken in but don't bother trying to keep the rearmain from leaking, they come that way from the factory. Also avoid the AWD trannys, they either don't work at all or are binded in 4wd.
