whining sound when i press on gas

hey
my 93 SVX makes a weird whining noise when i press on the gas and it increases in volume/pitch as the RPMs do
what could this be?
it has done this before but only on occasion, now it is every time i drive the car and it is getting kind of annoying

anything i can do to fix it?

Sounds like an idler going bad or maybe power steering? Take a listen and see if you can find the general vicinity of where the noise is coming from.

Depending on what the "whining" actually sounds like, it could be an exhaust leak.

Sounds like some alternator whine to me.

Do you have a stereo amplifier installed?

i just replaced my power steering a couple months ago
i will check where the sound is coming from later, but i do not have an amplifier installed, everything is stock

what would it sound like if it were an exhaust leak?
