Wheel cap mod

A while ago I saw some pictures in someone's locker of modified wheel caps where the Subaru logo had been filled in and an SVX logo was placed instead. I can't remember who had done that so if anyone does remember, please reply.

Anyway, I purchased some extra caps and would like to do the same, and could use some details of the steps required. I believe that the existing lettering has to be filled in with epoxy and bondo, then painted, decal applied, and lastly clearcoated.

Does anyone know of a silver paint that is a good match for my 97 wheels, other than original Suby paint? Where can I get some small SVX logos?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

I believe that was "nubs" (Mike Novosel).

That was nubsjr. look in his locker for the photo.

He also did mine for me, except I just wanted them blank. After he filled them and primed them I sent my wheels to Transwheel to be powdercoated and the caps as well to have them finished to match.

According to what Mike told me, he roughed up all the edges of the lettering so no straight edges were left. he then used a fiberglass epoxy to fill it and applied it heavily do it was higher than the original cap. This allowed the caps to be sanded down to the proper contour. After sanding he used an automotive primer to prepare the surface for paint.

As for the SVX logo, he cut them out of vinyl and applied them. They are not under any clearcoat as far as I know.
