Smoke from ash tray?
And no it wasn't ash!
But seriously. 1992 SVX Ls L. Touring. Previous owner says he heard a pop and then smoke came out of the ash tray area for about a minute or two... What?! No idea. The only other electric issues with the car that may or may not be related is the fact that the battery drains and needs an on off switch, and that the AC blows hot. Any ideas? Where do I start? |

Re: Smoke from ash tray?
There is a fusible link on the cigarette lighter. Does that outlet work?

Re: Smoke from ash tray?
Car is in the shop at the moment for a new tranny mount and tie rods, bushings, and SB links. I will test that as soon as I get my hands on it. Car needs to be cleaned as well.

Re: Smoke from ash tray?
Cigar lighter works! So not sure what the deal is. No clue where to look now. But there's something draining the battery and I have to shut it off every night and while I'm at work to prevent it from dying.

Re: Smoke from ash tray?
A common drain on these cars is the wires in the sun visors. Check if they are frayed where they flex all the time. Mine was the trunk light staying on as I posted on your other thread.
