Squeak on pushing brake pedal..sudden appearance?

Sudden appearance of squeek on depressing brake pedal...took me and my bulging L5 disc into the netherlands of the floor board and seems to be coming from the rod in the rubber boot as it goes thru the firewall to the booster. Greased up the pedal pivot bolt for laughs but didn't help obviously.

From the engine compartment side you can hear the noise also...brake action points towards functioning booster but wanted to see if any Forum member has had a similar noise just pop up one day...prodrome to dying booster..?..or something needs some K-Y..?

92 SVX, 80K miles, treated like a princess.

Thanks for any feedback...just to bust my cojones, the "princess" threw a CEL today which dissappeared with an engine restart.
