Re: SVX Meet 2010?

Sorry for slow response - happy to come, or at least fix Joe up with my car and accommodation. That's if he doesn't mind sharing a room with my 17 & 18 year old daughters.

As Joe well knows, I haven't actually got any daughters at all but made you think....

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

I got a call from Gez who is the other SVX owner locally and there is a chance that he may be able to make this meet as well.

Don't suppose you could borrow any from neighbours or somewat?

Yeah, you had me going there for a bit. If you are on for it I'll book flights before the weekend. You provide the motive power Steve. I'll provide the motive. Powers.

Also, not all have responded but I'll plan to book a pitch with what numbers we have as of this week. There will be enough of us to have a good day.

Joe

Going back over those expressing interest to attend the following is a "possible" attendance list, pending confirmation from everybody:

Phil & Belha, 1 x SVX, confirmed.

Joe With Steve K, 1x SVX, confirmed.

DJW, 1 x SVX, confirmed.

Gez, 1x SVX, confirmed?

Graham [f1SVX], 1 x Aston Martin Vantage Supercharged, confirmed.

John Blueji, 1 x SVX, assuming John confirms.

Tony [AJAS], 1x Legacy GT Spec B, be nice to see Tony & the lads again if possible.

Geachy, 1 or more SVX? Unconfirmed. They are attending JAE previous weekend. Be good if even one could travel to join the Cosford group. Cosford is near a lot of Wales and may not be too far for them.

:

Arthur - UK, 1 x SVX, Arthur has not so far committed to attending, but his Polo Green car always catches the eye. If he convoyed up with DJW it would make a really good group of display cars. Arthur is a nay, going to Goodwood.

That's it so far but if most of this list turns up it will be a great stand.

The one day format will mean a bit of driving for many which could be mitigated by a Sat night stop over in a B&B or hotel close to Cosford. It's possible this one-day format may be less expensive on people in terms of time and money outlay in these difficult times and I hope all above can turn up to prove me right.

Anybody not on the list please chirp up. Anybody on the above list please confirm yea/nay.

Thanks,

Joe
OK, updated attendance list as above. Any others attending or confirming, please respond.

We would like confirmation from John, Tony and Geachy & friends.

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

Well I have booked our slot for Sunday 19th at the Midlands Breakfast Club.

We have a stand for 10 cars and they are looking forward to seeing the SVXs on show as they are rare.

Could all those who are noted above please confirm attendance on the day? Anybody traveling a long distance, it would be sensible to split the journey and B&B somewhere close overnight on Saturday. That would give us a chance maybe to meet up for a meal and a few pints if possible on the Saturday night. When the show is over on Sunday we will all be heading away home, East and West, so it might be nice to have a get together.

Let me know what you think on that, we can do some research if it looks attractive.

Joe

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

Sounds like a good idea, is it worth finding a B&B or small hotel that can accomodate us all?

It should be possible. Steve lives near it. We will look into what places are available. It would be nice to meet up the night before if possible. Anybody with information or ideas on suitable places, chirp up.

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

Check out these places near Cosford. One or two look really interesting and the prices are not high for most of them.:

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

So far I intend to be there for the meet, but cannot be 100% cert. Got an MOT to go through, and also on account of the distance, the weather!

Might only be for half a day, but Cosford looks a lot more interesting than JAE with more mature minded enthusiast's.....well at least no Burberry headed Ned's!

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

It would be good if everyone could make it, locally to me there is the Goodwood Revival on at the same time but this event is the same every year whereas this meet may be only one of its kind for SVX owners so I consider it more important than the Goodwood event. Having had a look at this again it might look/sound like a dig at Arthur UK I can assure you it is not Arthur.

Weather permitting, I will be there too! I can only get there on the Sunday, so what time?

Look forward to catching up with you!

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

It will be great to see all you fellows, I too am looking forward to catching up.

My plan is to fly to Manchester sometime Saturday, then travel with Steve from Stoke on Trent on Sunday morning. That means I'll be staying in Stoke on Saturday night, so I will not likely be able to join the overnighters in Bonington or wherever, but I look forward to meeting you all early Sunday.

Time wise they regard it as a Sunday morning meet, and request that we be on site for nine ish. We can stay all day and enjoy the museum if we wish, but the car meeting proper is over at 1 or 2 PM. No harm I suppose with people having long drives home.

Let's hope the weather is kind to us and the MOT man is kind to John.

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

As you may have gathered I'm unable to bring a car this trip, but next year I'm planning to bring one, probably Jersey Girl I expect. Even if it puts a few hundred miles on the clock, she needs the cobwebs blowing out of the system.

Re: SVX Meet 2010?

I've managed to book in at the Grays Hotel in Telford rooms reduced from £180 to £34 you do have to pay £10 for breakfast but what the hell its probably a comfortable place. If anyone wants the info on the place let me know although you'll probably find it on a search, I have also phoned to check there is customer car parking with CCTV.
