A few things about the new ride

I cannot for the life of me get the front license plate frame off. I tried the 10mm nuts that seem to hold it on, but I can't get it off. They just spin. I'm registered in PA now, I don't need the stupid frame.

My tripometer is broken. Something is snapped inside it. It doesn't turn over and I can't reset it. Is there any way to fix this?

The light bulbs under the cruise/fog/rear defrost/parking/heated mirrors are blown. How do I get them apart to replace the bulbs?

My doors sound really...nasty? They remind me of the corvette's sagging doors in their sound. I sprayed them with white lithium but to no avail. Any ideas?

The power windows are rather slow. Any way to speed them up?

TIA....

Not sure about the lights and tripmeter, but as far as the doors mine made a horrid noise too and a healthy dose of penetrating lube to the hinges and some black moly based grease on the sliders that hold them open, combined with working the door open and closed repeatedly did the trick. They don't make a peep now! The power windows could probably use the tracks lubed as well. I lubed my friends after they were to the point of needing to be pulled up by hand, and now they work like new. The white lithium should do the trick there. My honest opinion is you might be better off replacing the gauge cluster than trying to fix it..

Check to see how dirty the window guides are. If they're dirty they can slow down the windows as well as scratch them up. Mine are like that.

A more friendly version of the movie: http://youtube.com/watch?v=UlvMwB4z9_M

Fired up the A/C tonight and it squeaked a lot...any suggestions?

I did just change the drivebelts.

Could be water on the belts, or high humidity could cause it to squeal. Also the belts may not be tightened all the way. Happens to me sometimes.

Significant Technical Input
What will really p you off is when you do get the tag holder off. 20 to 1 there will be screw holes right through your bumper.

There will be - and I'm okay with that. I'll fill them up with something green (a crayon? ). Right now though, I want the thing off.

I'll fix it, I've got a BFH!

Just kidding, Get a small screwdriver to hold the plastic insert that the screws go into. They're the same as a drywall anchor. Anyways, hold the insert, while you unscrew the frame mounts.

Pretty simple really. Take a small screwdriver and pry the cluster of buttons out of the dash. Pry off of the false button things on the ends as to not damage the buttons. Pull them out as fas as you can, and you'll see some phillips head looking colored plastic things. Those are the lights, they screw right out.

If you plan on pulling the cluster to fiddle wih it, you'll need to do this to both button clusters. Nxt, pull the false button ends off, and turn them sideways and shove them back into the dash trim. Remove all (7?) screws, and pull the dash trim out. It helps to have the steering wheel tilted down out of the way. Unplug the clock. Remove the (6?) screws holding the cluster in, and yank it out. It'll take a little tetrising to get it out from behind the steering wheel, but it is a pretty simple operation once you have done it a few times

I can't find the plastic insert. I can peel the side of the frame and see something metal and sheet like spinning and ripping a hole in my bumper.

Ok yet one more case of "don't assume anything, it makes an a** out of u & me"
I assumed the front tag bracket was the same as the one on my Legacy.
My bad, disregard my last post *self bashing
