A slight tick is a common problem with this engine. It usually quits after the car is run or warmed up.

ok so i have two different problems to deel with the missfire and the tick , and i know that this engine does tick a little and your right about it going away when it warms up but sometimes it doesnt, it not just your useual subie tick it is much louder in my appinion. one of them sound so much more quiet then the other one ( I have two svxs) thanks

If you can, go out at night and look under the hood when it is dark to see if there are any arcs near the coils. Like Trevor mentioned, that could cause a miss as well as a noise that sounds like a lifter.

ok so i looked for the coils arking they were ok the ticking must be a lifter rigth?
and i think the missfirer is vacuum related, going to look at codes and look at injecter resistance tomarrow to count them out. any suggestions
