Oil pump questions

When I was going through my oil pump today I noticed that mine doesn't have #'s 10 and 14 in this diagram Should I be worried?
Also, thought the oil pump was sealed with some RTV, but the semi-worthless Chilton's manual says to use a new gasket when installing the oil pump. I've never heard of a gasket for the SVX oil pump.
Thanks

Don't trust chiltons haynes or any similar manual when it comes to important car work. You do need to seal it with three-bond or a similar substance.

Manuals

If you plan on keeping your car and doing work on it you are better off to spring for the $200 and buy the shop manual set. Getting harder to get.

I will definately keep an eye out for the shop manuals. Ebay maybe? I didn't think there was a gasket for the oil pump. Anybody know about the oil relief tube?

I agree with the Chilton and Haynes thing but my Subie manual says nothing about sealant. When I did my oil pump there was no sealant when it came off and none when it went on. It does not leak.
I would use a thin layer of sealant if I had to do it again. If nothing more than a peice of mind.

Kent Send me a pm with your e-mail address and I will shoot you some good manuals. It need to be able to receive at least a 10MB file too.
