if my rear wheels were to spin on ice, that would defeat the purpose of giving them power. they didnt spin because they caught traction using a low level of power. basic principles of stabilization will tell you that such a thing means its working as it should. if you can spin the rear wheels you should lay off the gas or get some new tires.
in good traction condidtions the svx awd splits 90% to the front, 10% to the back. in bad traction it merely sends enough to the back to attain equal wheel revs, which may or may not work at the time.
