Dealer said I need new transmition "NOT"

What a great forum!!!! Just saved me lots of $$$$. I just cancelled the new transmition that was ordered for me, all because of this forum and its members. After reading about the power light flashing (mine was 16 flashes on startup), then doing a search here. I found that I had the same code 11 many others had found on their SVX's, selenoid A. In reading more, ppl talked about a resistor behind the battery that had fixed many of the same syptoms my card had. So I popped it off this morning and checked it, I got no reading at all. So I called my dealer to ask about the part and believe it or not he had it in stock. Just got back popped it in and my transmition runs like new, shifts as smooth as sh*t through a goose. The new transmition was going to cost just under 6000.00 cdn, the resister cost 86.00 cdn!!
What will I spend the 5900.00 I just saved on? Casino tonight, new skins for my seats, a trip to Belize ........................, thanks agian to all, regards dave

Dave,

We're glad to have helped. I'm very happy to hear that you were able to fend off the transmission rebuild for the time being.

Dave,
Happy that things worked out to the better, and all because of this great group. Don't be a stranger.

The money I have saved from participating in this forum has more than outweighed the $50 I spent on a membership to ensure it stays alive.

I'm still in shock that such a simple and easy to do thing, fixed what I (and the dealer) thought was a almost dead transmition. I no longer have to hold my breath in stop and go traffic thinking that my tranny is going to fall off with every slam into gear. I didn't want to stop at my house I just wanted to keep driving. I would gladly make a donation to this site. thanks again, regards dave
ps. I really did book a trip to Belize this afternoon. I leave on the 25th and return on the 30th. I see that there is now a ferry from Tampa to Cancun that takes cars and ppl. I'd love to take my SVX and drive it to Belize (appox 3.5 hours) it would trully blow minds in Belize and be alot of fun even if there is only one paved road going the lenght of the country 250km all other road are dirt.

I would have put the money toward the SVX Transmission fund. If mine ever goes I'll be going to a manual tranny for probably less cost than a rebuilt auto tranny.
