Throttle Cable Replacement

Has anyone had to replace the throttle cable before? Mine is on it's last legs and beginning to break. It is sticking and I fear that it will sever completely. I have checked out prices and it seems to only be ~$26, but I am unsure of the ease of replacement. How easy is it to replace? Easily accessable?

It appears to come through the firewall at a high position, but I have not yet looked on the inside to see where. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

If you can do Koni strut inserts and springs, I think you'll be fine with the throttle cable. Just do it. :-))

I should hope I can figure this out.

I checked it out and it doesn't look bad at all. I am just wondering how the hell I am going to fit myself into that area. I think I am going to have to go on a diet to do this repair!

I couldn't seem to fit my hands or eyes behind the pedal assembly to determine how the cable comes out. I am just going to pull the whole thing. Good thing the part is cheap! I just wish it would get here a little quicker. I have to drive a Civic the whole week!

Maybe I will drag race it through a school zone since it is so fast.....

Before you pull the cable out, tape the new cable to the end of the old one and use it as a snake to pull the new one through.

I think he's referring to the entire assembly and not just the cable that runs through it.

I haven't done this job but if I were to guess I would rate it a 3 out of 10 where 10 is a 5MT swap and 1 is filling your tank with gas.
