Blake, on the AU forums, uses EBC Greenstuff pads and highly recommends them - he is very very particular about his car and does all his own work on it so I (myself anyways) would take his opinion without question

I have to get some new pads too, and machine the rotors, so I will let you know how I fare

Joe, excellent info - may have to print it out and shove under the nose of the alignment place and, donning those fashionable mirror-sunglasses favoured by the good ol boys from the deep south, say "Boy, you mess my *spit baccy* car up and Ma, Pa and *spit baccy* BubbaJo are gonna come and *hack bccy* mess you up reeel good...geddit!"

Chewbacca lives

Hi guys

Thanks, and yes, Earl could possibly stick that info into the How-to locker under the moniker "SVX 4 wheel alignment details".

I got it nearly three years ago, possibly from Randy, but I feel sure it was Arthur 610, and I bring a printout with me each time for a 4-wheel laser alignment.

Joe

James, the sunglasses have gone to your head. I mean, like, the Deep South?
The Deep South in Australia is really deep. I mean, it's the Antarctic, right?, right??

Joe

Pagid brake pads

[QUOTE]Originally posted by b3lha

I've found out that Pagid do in fact make pads for the SVX. Part numbers T0009 (front) and T3021 (rear). Despite the massive vote of confidence for EBC, I feel like giving the Pagids a try.

The front ones are £31.05 + VAT from http://www.bgdevelopments.co.uk/ (although they don't keep them in stock) Seems more reasonable than the genuine Subaru pads which our dealer sells at £105.74 + VAT.

I'll let you all know how we get on with them.

P&B.

Nice pics Phil, pity you didn't get one with an SVX in it!

Where are all the people? 30 pics and only one containing humans.

Is that Ian Norris talking to the gentlemen from Aisan? I hope he got the messaage across.

Looks like a couple of good venues.

New photo in locker

Hi all

Joe, a great photo just been put in my locker with cars and people! This was taken by David Finch, the importer photographer. He was there early, so Andy was still playing 'catch' with M3's and Matt and Claire were still in transit. Thanks David!

I've asked for a few copies of any article that they print. I also have a small write-up from our local paper that I will put in my locker when I can get it scanned in.

Sorted out the strange noise from under the car. Turned out to be the old favourite of the loose heat shield. I took the opportunity to partially strip and check the front suspension assembly. All looks to be OK. It was interesting to note that the brake disc is coated with a layer of pad material. This is how it should be according to EBC, this means much higher friction coupled with less wear to the discs. Having now covered over 1k miles with the new setup, I cannot fault it, and yet to induce any fade.

I have just posted a few piccies in my locker, more to follow. Beware, they are rather large!!!!
