I would like to confirm Canada SVX is 'A'. It should be 'A', the US is 'A', and an empty fuse location reads HEATED SEATS, you have, we don't.

Canada is an option code of same US model, please post all numbers on the strut tower for the Canadian SVX, especially OPTION CODE.

thanks, we're in fast mode now
Okay because I knew you were going to Ask I checked both again.

94 has Relay 6 marked as Seat Heaters, Option Code HN, Trim Code 410
and
96 has Relay 6 marked as Fog Lights, Option Code HN, Trim Code 640

note the instructions at the top of the fuse cover are in both English and in French

It would be interesting to know what the 92 were marked with. I expect with a "A" as I have not seen a Canadian 92 with Seat Heaters, but with the requirement for French as well, maybe "A1" or "AA"

Peter

Thanks Peter, you knew well,
But one other thing, there is a BIG LETTER on the lower left side of the cover, that's the letter I'm referring to. Since your cover has instruction in French, this letter is PROBABLY NOT 'A'. Please look at the cover again, better yet, please post a picture, both Canadian covers should be the same ,

Ron

MadMaxSVX may have a BIG 'E', and you show up with BIG F and G.

All those 'little letters' were too confusing

Any chance of posting pictures here or sending to my email?

I remember someone asking me about it long time ago. I also remember taking a picture and sending it out to him. I am 70% sure it was Harvey when we were discussing the non catalyst models.

Need to do some forum search maybe I have it there posted...

Re: Svx Models, How Many Produced?

Okay did some playing with this site
http://www.subaru-sale.ru/vin/
I looked up JDM vin numbers to determine my estimate of the total JDM production based on the information give back by this site.

Ver L Mar-91 Sep-92 Options D?? Total 1904
Ver E Mar-91 Sep-92 Options A??, B??, F?? Total 2194
Ver S40 Oct-92 Mar-93 Options 6X?, 7X? Total 281
Ver S40II May-94 Aug-94 Options 8X?, 9X? Total 301
Ver S3 Nov-94 Jun-95 Options C??, P?? Total 429
Ver S4 Jun-95 Nov-96 Options S?? Total 857

Grand Total 5966

The following few early serial numbers do not exist (assuming they were crash tested)
CXD002003, CXW002001, CXW002002, and CXW002004

I'm assuming the same exercise could be completed with other Market Vin #. A project to someone else when they are looking to kill a bunch of time.

Ron I'll e-mail you the Excel Sheet.

Wow! Did you manually type every number into the site? Or did you run a script?

That's awesome.

Peter, that's fantastic , I believe those numbers ,
especially since the S40II was considered the 'anniversary' edition, produced 301, same number Earl confirmed for our '93 model. Interesting, that web-page had to obtain production numbers somewhere, what a resource.

Did you happpen to jot down the first and last number for each model?
EDIT: Yes, the spread sheet has every number, WOW.
Those are the first and last numbers I had in researching the VL for the NHTSA application, [just messed up the math]
YES, I BELIEVE THOSE NUMBERS ARE ACCURATE, THE S4 IN THE 800 RANGE AS WELL!!!

Joe didn't like the round numbers, so, I'm guessing he would believe these as well. Thanks for sorting that out and posting here

Using the same exercise, those with VIN records should be able to learn how many Canadian, German, , etc., etc.

No Script (however I wish I was that smart) and I did not type all on them in to the site. JDM VIN # are very simple CXD00XXXX and CXW00XXXX, so guessing the first VIN # (CXD/W 200?) and then 20 or so up from there. I then assumed that the VIN #s would be consecutive and only sampled every 20-100 change in VIN number after that. Using information in this thread on then # of each model helped in guessing the end and start of each Version. So in the end probably sampled 5% of the JDM VIN numbers.

The Excel sheet I sent to Ron does breakdown by all the VIN #, however, very easy to do as Excel autofills the cells and after looking at my hand written note the Excel sheet was the easiest way to keep track. And I could then use Excel to do the math as I was getting tired and making mistakes.

Peter
