I'd just like to say thanks to everybody for keeping this thread, for the most part, an interesting debate. Thanks for respecting eachother's opinions.

I have to say, I'm woth Rob on a lot of it, but I can definitely appreciate what others have to say. I've walked on both sides of the fence through all five pages of this thread.

I'm just going to take the time to point out the generalization in your post. How are you aware that when 'blasting' goes on, nobody cares?

I live in an apartment complex, and from time to time the real cool kids speed through the parking lot blasting (bumpin) their tunes. I don't run out and start screaming at them, but trust me, I care. It's obnoxious and juvenile and a disturbance of the peace.

Also, two wrongs don't make a right. It's kind of silly to feel like you are within your rights to disturb every driver at the sto light (As you've described) just because there have been a few drivers who have treated you (according to you) discourtesly.

That's like blowing up an entire occupied building just to cure the ant problem.

Egg-zactly. Driving around with your huge 'system' pumping is like driving around yelling "**** YOU" to everyone at 120 decibels.

PS: I'd like to get a truck and mount HUGE speakers in the bed, with a MONSTER amp, and then follow around some 'thumpin' car. i can name 100s of "good" rap songs containing swear words. 'keep ya head up 2' by tupac shakur is a fine example. check out 'changes' and 'thug mansion' for others.

so youre saying playing my music loud is a wrong? but its like this fo real: i only have two 10s and a 200W amp. you cant really hear it unless your in the car. i dont go around blasting my music for everyone. plus, i turn it down in the neighborhoods and for people with their windows open, at least until my car is once again a fully enclosed vessel. this is how i know noone cares. also i scope people. most the time they dont look.

theres actually more disturbance with all the rednecks and preps with large trucks and obnoxious exhaust systems. yesterday some monster truck waited til he got next to me then throttled it for a sec so i can hear his freakin engine roar. it happens everyday, all the time. that pisses me off.
people with loud bass dont piss me off.
then these kids with big trucks act like they own the road, til the svx puts them in there place.

OHHH no that was another Tupac song though..."Wonder why they call U *****"...its actually a song written to Delores Tucker, a woman who crititicized (sp? im tired) Tupac for his constant use of the word ***** when he was talking about women. It basically tells of the type of woman who he thinks deserve the title, having sex with men to get what they want, using their body to get far in life.

If you look at what he's saying instead of the vulgar language you would understand that its not all negative. Calling someone a "nigga" is just another term for like saying..."hey dude whats up" it would be..."what up nigga"...it all depends on the context.

lol riiiight....thats what i mean though, its all how you take it, that whole language is kind of part of the culture of hip-hop...thats the reason for the language they use, in their eyes its not vulgar, its an everyday thing.

Thats fine and dandy (and one of the reasons I wish we could napalm the 'culture'), but that doesn't make it okay to blare at 120 decibels.
