Unhappy I may be getting a 5 speed sooner than I expected.

I am happy about that. But I am not happy about the timing.

I posted yesterday that my rev was going crazy.

After trying to figure it all out and talking to Doug, I deciede to take the car out for a spin again. Today, it is worse. The rev going crazy is doing it at up to 20mph.

I put the car in "N" and engine is smooth. I put the car in "P" same story. "R" is fine. Just "1-D" was causing trouble. As I experiment it more, it happens on load at around 1200 RPM and only on 1st and 2nd gears. So... My tranny is on the way out. I checked the tranny dip stick. Red and smells ok. It was rebuilt about 60k ago though. Diff is alittle low but it's does not feel like diff going south. I have been wrong before.

Well, from what I can feel/tell, my tranny is going south. For those of you interested in the diff and parts from the tranny, there might be one on the market soon.

Lwin

ps. bloody meet monster is chasing me. Someone try to distract the damn thing will you?

Sorry to hear it. I think you can make it to Ft. Wayne on this tranny

You still have a week to find another SVX to buy.

Give me a call if you need anything.

Doug

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Do you think perhaps the torque converter would cause a problem like this?
