I had a 2002 Outback VDC sedan and traded it on a 2002 Outback VDC wagon and am pleased to report that this system is nothing short of amazing!!

The system default is VDC always on (you have to press a switch on the dash to disengage it and a The "VDC OFF" light appears on the dash.

As I have said before in other posts I have taken the outback VDC arounds tight curves at grades and speeds I wouldn't dream of attempting in the SVX.

During this past snowstorm (where I received 27-29" of snow) I tried to force the outback to lose control. Everytime I slammed the gas and turned the wheel sharply the VDC light would come on and I could feel it cutting engine power and applying one or more of the brakes. I tried to make the car act erratically and skid or slide but technology always intervined and kept me on track.

I always thought that both Outback sedan and wagon were Trish's cars. At least, that's what she told Rosie. So don't let her see your post or you'll have to shovel a path to the doghouse.
