Let girlfriend drive car---- toasted rotors..
Well the girlfriend has been buggin me to let her drive my baby.
hmmm well why not, if i don't she might cut me off from the fun things in life. (besides the SVX) so she takes off like a bat outa hell with H-6 screamin 4Eat burnin. hmm. ok so i'm waiting and waiting for her to come back about 45 min later. and 100 more miles on the ODO.. she rolls up, electric fans spinnin like all hell, it's 40DEG outside. i smell brakes, tranny fulid, and tires,. ahhhh tanny, fine tires fine. rotors i just bought... they are a freakin RAINBOW color.. hot as somethin and smokin... well you do the math. 100 MI in 45 min? ya hmm so she finally told me she went on the freeway and hit abotu 135-140...yep don't even let your weiner decide when its time to let someone drive your car.. sex isn't everthing, but 10K for a SVX is !!!! needless to say i love her to death i could care about the car less. but i did have the car before her.... but i'd blow it up for her. OUCH!! Don't let her drive your car again. Or better yet, make her pay for new rotors, the fancy, expensive kind!
So you're back in the states.... Are you coming to our meet next month? ~~Michelle

My God! Watch out when you dance with her. That lead foot of hers could crush your toes! That's just an average speed you came up with. Imagine how fast she was REALLY going at some point!
If she got those nice rotors of yours that hot she must have gotten herself into a real pickle at some point and can thank God you replaced the rotors with such nice ones or you'd have more worries on your mind. Indeed learn your lesson and pray she has learned hers. There may be a limited number of SVXes around anymore but there are billions of women in the world. Unless you are married to her it's easier to replace a woman that would hold out on horizontal fun for a drive of your SVX than to replace the SVX itself (or both of them). Use your head next time - the BIG head!

From the day I got my car I was always careful with the rotors... then came the day I lent my car to a friend of mine (a girl I might add). The car came back with the rotors warped badly, and the horn not working.
Women. heh. Mike |

re: defensive driving
hey Ruu, for valentine's day, i'd say get her a defensive drive class as a gift. no offense or anything, but i hope that she knows how to handle the power of a fast car. i know going fast is great and all (i've got tons of speeding tickets) but although AWD is great, i've yet to test the awd on a oil patch as I have had on FWD. i've done 180's and 360's in oil patches and black iced highways and it's quite something to try to handle your car at high speeds without hitting someone. 3600 pounds and 140mph is not a good combo on the road especially since a bump could take the control right out of your hands. just a thought for you and the safety of your woman.
btw- saw your car in your locker, it's a beauty. where did you get those digital temp gauges for your transmission? i'm looking for one of those. |

Never!!!
I don't care what anyone says... I have never and will never let a woman drive my car... ( no offense to our female members ). I just don't trust the average woman behind the wheel. For instance, down here on the Air Station that I am stationed at we just got done cleaning up one hell of an accident. A young FEMALE Lcpl. decided that it would be fun to stt how fast she could get a Fuel truck going before a turn... This is no normal fuel truck. It holds JP-5(jet fuel) and was full at the time!!!! What the %#&k was she thinking!!! I don't know. But I do know that when she got to the trun she FLIPPED the truck and spilled around 10,000 lbs of fuel.... She was very lucky it didn't explode. That was just an example that I thought of... But we all know about the lady's comming home from work talking on thier cell phones!! Or putting on make up in the morning while they drive... That's really safe.... I'm sorry but whenever I am in the car with a woman I am always on edge.. I have had a few girl friends and none of them would I Blow up my car for... Screw that!!! there are Millions of women in the world, but only so many SVX's. So I'm sorry baby but my car comes first, atleast till I find a woman that is worthy, so far no luck...

I have only let one person drive my car before, but never alone. I don't care who it is, they are not going to drive it with out me there. Why, you just described the reason for that decision that I hold to.

DIGITAL gauges..
i got the gauges from ..
Dakota digital they're about 75$ for the gauge... then 15 for the sending unit. if you do'nt have an external tranny cooler. get one and then install the gauge... if not get a tubing kit.. (flare and compression, stuff like that) cause i think the stock lines are steel? (correct me if wrong) need to get a "T" connector, make sure the sending unit is grounded.. |
