That is pretty hot. It does look a lot like the 350Z from some angles though. And the loot... you could get several of my personal dream cars for that kind of money...
I did, however, get to go for a ride in an Aston on Saturday, thanks to one of our fellow SVXers who shall remain nameless because I'm not sure he wants that kind of publicity It was sweet.

Yes, the Vanquish shown in the most recent Bond movie was 4WD. There were actually five or six of them built for the movie, all from pre-production cars. The V12s were removed and replaced with Ford V8s mated to Ford Explorer drivetrains. The first movie that the Vanquish showed up in, by the way, was not Die Another Day. Anybody know what was the first (as far as I know)?

Anyway, rap videos excluded, I'm pretty sure that the first movie the Vanquish appeared in was Tomb Raider, in June of 2001. At the time, it was just a concept car. [swoon]Lara also had my true love, a Jag XJ220, in her garage.[/swoon]

AM Vanquish
There was one of those sitting in the lobby for a few weeks at Manhole Auto Auction a while back. I've always been a fan of AM but I felt that this was NOT close to their best work. It looked very similar to a Jag, esp the front and rear bumper design. If I'm gonna pay $200k for a car I definately don't want it to look like a Jag. I'd simply by the Jag with the Supercharger and have the same perfomance w/o the aluminum bodywork. Still if I'd have to say that the DB7 would be on my top 10 list of non Subaru automobiles if price wasn't a concern.

To me the most beautiful car was the Ferrari Berlinetta Lusso. It was an early 60's Pinin Farina design.
I also loved the look of the Lamborghini Miura. Here are some others: The Corvair SS The Alfa Disco Volante' show car The '57 Caddy Eldorado Brougham '94 Chrysler LHS and current Dodge Intrepid. To me these were all beautifully integrated designs. Every individual feature seemed to enhance the whole. I do not think the 350 Z or any of the designs that mimic the Audi TT clunkiness are pretty. Todays modern deigns do not have characteristics that flow into each other gracefully. A good example of poor design is the new 350 Z and the new BMW Z4. The Z4 has too many conflicting creases on the side.

I might add, it's a fitting compliment to its 1930 predecessor.

I like your list with one exception, Larry - the LHS/Intrepid. I really dug the Intrepid (and its derivatives) when it first arrived, but it's hardly a timeless design. As for the Z4, I was revolted when I first saw it, too. I'm getting over it and the car is growing on me. It's better in person than on a screen.
