I smell a RAT
Hmmm, do you guys think that there is a relation between Ariel Sharon falling in a coma and his successor Olmert taking control of Israel and causing an unjustified war over Lebanon???
I have a gut feeling that Sharon's Coma is not accidental...  P.S: this is only a one question and comment thread, let's not get carried away with it, pls.

No matter if Arik Sharon fell into a comma from natural circumstances or if he was poisoned by members within the Labor and his own Kadima party. The fact is if he was still PM he probably would have agreed more with the alternate plans proposed by the former defense minister and general staff for an invansion of Lebanon by sea straight into Beruit while ensueing a bombardment of Hezbollah positions there and then having a ground force actually circling west of the Latni River into Syria to cut off any retreating forces and resupplying then after securing Lebanon pushing forward for a full scale invansion into Syria which surely would of dragged Iran then in the US in even more. Mind you the an IDF ex-general who disclosed this plan to the public stated that it was also not only approved but also coordinated with the Bush Administration.
I don't know how truthfull this plan was but if it was a true plan the current US and former Israeli government under Sharon both planned on, it sounds to me like the start of WWIII which Olmert actually avoided by nixing it in favor of a medium ground and heavy air assault in southern Lebanon with a naval blockade, so perhaps you should be thanking him in the long run or if not if Iran decides to quit touting and actually start launching. I'll have to find the link to the article as it was posted in yNetnews. He also might have lost his wartime objectives, the so called PR battle (which Israel never had an upper hand in 30 years in the first place) and cost Israel a considerable amount of resources. But it seems that is having everything fall into place for Olmert within the UN guidelines. The Lebanese army also seems to be taking advantage of the Hezbollah disarmerament, gaining sophisticated weapons in case if Israel or even Syria decide to invade again even though I bet Hezbollah has plenty of funds to re-equip themselves. But I still do feel bitter that every battle these days seems to be about wagging the dog and those who do it can or have to care less about how many of their own citizens have to die to accomplish it. I am not saying that there is a 0% chance for Hezbollah to recieve any new armorments but the fact is with UN forces on the ground along the Syrian border and Israel blocking by sea as well as both probably keeping an eye in the sky I doubt they can get nearly as much weapons as they were able to before.
