Hello there snowbank

Well.. i've cracked the front bumper. Only on the side, but its got a big crack in it now.
Was wondering if anyone on here has any knowledge of how to fix a cracked bumper. With my financial situation, replacing it is not an option.

I was thinking about taking it off and putting something on the inside of the bumper to reinforce where it is cracked. Maybe putting some bondo type thing over the crack and then painting it....

Hmmm,

There are some body shops out there that will fix bumpers like that. I have seen some custom jobs here in Minn where people have added light setups in them. Also know of a nice Fiero that has had different plastic bumpers melted together (and no not from catching on fire )

Other thing you could do is buy some Duramix.

I have glued hood scoops down and other stuff with this and it works great. Think the chevy dealers use this on the vettes. It's kinda spendy and you need to buy the tool to despense it but the stuff works great.

Sorry to hear the misfortune Khalil. Nice car, BTW.

If you are serious about doing it yourself, you could do worse than find out how to do it. See this book:

http://www.themotorbookstore.com/rep...-bodywork.html

It's around $16, but money well spent if you are doing it yourself, or getting a friend to help.

Joe

Yeah there is a body shop near my house that fixed the bumper on my mothers previous honda accord. She had lightly tapped a snow bank while parking and it cracked the bumper on the drivers side. The shop patched it up for her for the tune of 250 dollars.

Personally I would get some Simpson ties and bolt'er down.

I'm tryin to get our fleet's fiberglass guy to consider fabricating up a hood, but I'm sure he'd fix your bumper in like 5 minutes for maybe 50-100 bucks.

'Course I can't get a hold of the guy...

I have quite a few auto connections so if you need stuff make sure to drop me a note. It's a longshot considering the SVX but worth a try.
