LOL!

That's about the only way a Honda will ever have a V8!

That looks more like an H6 to me. So you've got a 10 cyl 5.7L 40v Quad cam Honda

I hate Hondas but love their V-tec technology... I wish the same could be applied on the SVX, we would have a 330 Hp naturally aspirated engine !!!

Actually a 330hp 3.3 liter with our redline would be dang near impossible.

In V-tec technology, for each 0.1L you get 10 hp.... I wish we can apply it to the SVX EG33. It would need a mechanical freak to apply it... 330 hp looks sweet, hein?

You’re basing this on the S2000 engine right? You do realize they have increased the displacement to 2.2l now and it still makes the same 240hp. You will also note that the S2000 engine has to spin to upwards of 9000 rpm to make that power.

Just a couple thoughts on VTEC engines to think about:
Standard 1.6l SOHC made 102-108 hp; the VTEC 1.6l SOHC made 125-127 hp
Standard 1.6l DOHC made 130-137 hp; the VTEC 1.6l DOHC made 150-185 hp
Standard 1.8l DOHC made 130-140 hp; the VTEC 1.8l DOHC made 170-195 hp
Standard 2.3l DOHC made 160 hp; the VTEC 2.2l DOHC made 190-220 hp

All of these engines are fairly small displacement inline 4 cylinders capable of fairly high redlines.

Currently the most powerful engine that Honda puts out is in the RL platform and it produces 300 hp out of a 3.5l V6.

The EG33 is a great engine, but without extensive modifications there it isn’t likely that the engine would hold up to well over 7500 rpm.

Sorry for the thread highjack.

Phast SVX, what kind of Honda is that? I can’t really tell from that picture...I'm guessing 90-93 Accord...?

What about turbo components of the Legacy (rings and pistons, etc...) but without lowering the compression ratio? it should hold right?!

mmm, again sorry for the contents hijack... I am like a magnet towards possible tuning solutions for the engine.
(my 6 mt in the garage will get rusty over time without using it in my car, it is urging me to get her a performance engine!!! )

The whole idea of 100hp per liter or 10hp for .1 liters is extremely relative. It can only be done in some applications. With my car, I always get the "but your car doesn't make 100hp per liter like mine does!"...then I say..."but it does have double the horsepower of yours". To create a 5.7L V8 that makes 100hp per liter NA and still runs on pump gas would be too expensive to be worth it. In smaller applications VTEC works, but it's not just a matter of throwing it in a bigger engine and expecting tons of power. Doesn't work that way. It would be more of a burden than a help.

smaller engine= less rotational mass= higher RPMs.

The bigger and heavier an engine gets, the slower its rpms. Ever seen those HUGE engines the size of rooms? They only hit a few hundred rpms.

i dont think the rings or pistons are what's holding it back.

Significant Technical Input
With those huge tires in back it has to be faster - it's always running downhill!
