Talking Ram air.

Hey guys,
I just took out my intake resonater and put in the drop in K&N filter in today. I then cut about a 4 inch hole in the rubber piece right under the right of the bumper, so now when I drive alot of cold air is shooting up to the intake-nice--
The only thing I am worried about is that little yellow box( I think its the abs controller?)attached to the fender. Does anyone know if its waterproof? So far the car definatly sounds louder on full accelleration and has alittle more pull once im moving.
thanks !

That little yellow box is part of the SRS system or the airbag if i recall correctly. I definitely wouldn't move it around all that much. However, I'm not positive on that..

Good plan on removing the resonator... Bad plan on cutting that hole. I did the same thing, and regretted it.

Read this for an explanation.

The yellow box is the "waterproof" airbag sensor. You can run a 3" hose from the modified air box thru the hole pointing forward for a true Ram Air. https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Pages/P...n_Ducting.html These guys have the a good selection of elbows at reasonable prices.
In my latest rendition of ram air for my svx, I've used a 90 degree elbow with black 3" aluminum tubing. If you look real close at this picture you can see the ram air.

I betcha didn't see that last time. He,he

Nice setup!!!
How about water? It looks like that could be a problem if you hit a big puddle.

Not so far, and I've had various ram air set ups on my svx since the night I bought my 92 in Feb 2002. There is a drain hole in the stock airbox under the pannel filter. It's a bad idea with deep snow however.
