Talking Newest SVX Owner!!!

Well, I did the deed today and walked away the owner of a Red '96 SVX L. On the two hour drive back home I couldn't stop smiling as I just love this car!

An interesting thing happened to me on the way home...I was on a clear stretch of interstate, cruising along at 70mph and a black Neon SRT-4 pulls up beside me and the guy driving it is just checking my car out. He makes a few noises with his BOV, and then guns it! I was in third and the SVX stayed right at his door until 100 when we both backed off. I normally don't street race, but I couldn't resist as I knew the mid-range pull of the SVX was strong. He seemed genuinely shocked with the outcome! But he was cool and waved...

Elated to finally be in the club. Chiketkd's Project SVX will begin this summer as planned!

-Chike

Ha ha! It's done on purpose. I had the dealer switch them around that way. They were on really weird before - look in my locker and check the two pics of my SVX on the Dealer lot. You'll see what I mean.

The car has 95,600 miles and I bought it for $6,900. Even though the price is a bit high for a '96, I'm very happy with what I got.

I'm esctatic right now!

Don't sweat it on the price. The '96 LSi I bought 2 months ago came with 94,500 on the odometer & cost me $7k (low end of book value).

Keith, that's too funny! I think SRT-4_slayer would be asking for trouble! Maybe after doing the mods I plan, it'll end up being one...

Well, my SVX now has just over 96,000 miles and after covering 400+ miles in her over the last 24 hours, I must say that this is the most amazing car I've ever owned.

I took her to the car wash and really went over the entire body carefully when I waxed her. What really amazes me is that there are no minor bumps or scratches on the paint work. The carfax said she had a single owner with no accident history, but the luster in the paint tells me she: 1) was repainted or 2) was stored in a covered garage.

I'm just basking right now...in SVXtasy!

You know Chike, but I was the same way when I first got mine. 10 minutes after I purchased the car, I went to the gas station to top her off and as I rolled in, an old man at the pump next to mine commented and said, "That exhaust sounds down right viscious!"

After that one comment, I know this car was amazing. (After all, no one really comments on how bad ass your Mazda B-2200 is )

Just wait until the slew of window comments are made. That really puts the icing on the cake.

I have had numerous people ask me how I got my windows to look like that. My simple reply is, "Stock"

And the blank look on their faces in like a Master Card commercial

"Seeing the look on their faces when they see your windows...Priceless"

"For everything in life, There's SVX.

Congrats again and welcome home dude!!!

Keith,

The window comments have already started! My wife and sister-in-law both love the way it makes the car look so 'streamlined'!

My wife was driving behind me the other day as I took a few corners at high speed, and she mentioned that my rear wheels looked as if they were turning...I spent the next 10 minutes explaining how the car had passive rear wheel steering. She was like: "Wow!"

This car is cool!!!!
