I carry one in my trunk. An ABC rated extinguisher (wood, paper, oil, gas, electrical). I had a small engine fire in a 89 Subaru RX that I was driving. Luckily I hadn't left my driveway yet, so I was able to run inside and grab an extinguisher. Now I carry one with me.
Dave P.S. I have fire insurance on my 95, so the insurance company should be HAPPY that I carry one. By minimizing any fire damage to my car, I am minimizing the amount they would owe me!
