Randy do you think you have bad luck? Your situation is completely based on superstition and that went out a long time ago.

I think your problem may be based more in the real world. Are you sure the tranny shop has not hooked up some type of a electronic timer to your TCU? Oh Bob? What do you think? When should we set this timer for? Well Jim, how about March 13th, 2004? Johnson says he goes to the meet thing every year in April. Yeah Bob, we get slow around then. The 13th sounds good. I think Johnson is superstitous.

Randy lets see.... Have you crawled under the dash recently to have a look? I am sure it is there. You know Dodge did the same thing on the Caravan transmissions. They mostly failed 2000 miles after the warantee was done.

We did have a Friday the 13th in February.......?
Have you been walking under ladders.......?
Does a black cat sleep in your engine bay........?

How many rabbit foots do you carry?

I hope it is something small and fixable.

Amazingly, I'm really NOT superstitious (knock on wood ), but may change my mind. If you recall, I couldn't drive Patience last year because of the gear oil leaking into the tranny. That, along with the scrubbing noise that no one but me seems to be able to hear.

Of course, the first thing I said to Dave at the tranny shop was, "Well it's that time of year. My big meet's next month, so, something had to go wrong."

I know the TCU is still there and could possibly have been tampered with . I dropped one of the screws when replacing it, so, it's easily removed with just one screw holding it on.

Interesting you should mention the Caravan. That's what our mini-van is. It has almost 190K on it. Never had a tranny problem.

I reckon John is right!

I was going to suggest the brake band needed adjusting. But Johns reasioning makes more sense, in your case Ardub.

Randy it sounds like you have a problem that's similar to the one I had right before the 10th Anniversary Meet.

Remember? My tranny seemed like it suddenly died, but it would work fine until it warmed up. I was searching for all kinds of solutions, and in the end the dealer flushed the tranny and changed the filter and the car worked fine. It seems that the tranny had a blockage somewhere, causing a drop in fluid pressure.

That's what I hope is wrong with your car. Of course, mine died right *after* I got back from the meet, but it got me there and back.

Yeah, I remember that. I would really be PO'd if, when I had the tranny pulled and broken apart to have the seals fixed between the trans and front diff, that they allowed some "trash" into the system. That would really honk me off. Mainly because the shop where it is, is not the shop that did the work -- then, we could go 'round all day as to who's fault it was.

3:36 PM Central Time

Day 2

Haven't heard a word from the tranny shop since I dropped the keys off yesterday.

Let's hope they can keep this repair UNDER 30 days.

I never said legs. Crossing your legs is bad for you. It accelerates varicose veins.
