STi engine swap in SVX?!?!?

I am sure the question MAY have been asked before - basically I want to do a engine with tranny swap - I think I can get everything done for less than 3k which I think is reasonable. I wonder if - : May not be an STI but a WRX modified engine with tranny- either or

1. decreased weight of engine will increase performance
2. better tranny will increase performance
3. beefier turbos

Well you guys get the drift - let me know ASAP please plan to have this done BEFORE Dec.

It may cost much more money and take more time than you are anticpating. Custom engine mounts would be necessary. You would need to buy an aftermarket intercooler and find a place to mount it. You would need to have a custom turbo-back exhaust fabricated. And because it would probably be impossible to use the WRX ecu, you would need to purchase a stand-alone engine management computer, hook it up, and tune the motor. I'm sure there is much more that would need to be modified/added. In addition to the $3k you mention, I would estimate that you would be spending another $5k to make the conversion work.

You should free up a decent amount of room in the engine bay, and weight at least in the front end, because of the 5spd if you ue one. But you would lose almost all of the low down torq. The turbo stuff aculy weighs alot, the eninges would probley end up weighing about the same.

It a good idea but a 2.0L has no down low, not a huge problem in a WRX but in a 3,500LB. SVX it would be bad. Also the you would not be able to use the stock turbo up-pipe or intercooler set up, all you would have is alot more room in front of the motor, not an ideal place for turbos or intercoolers but could be done. I wouldn't use anything under a 2.2L and even then get a 2.4stroker kit for it to increase the low RPM tourq.
