Wrong. SVXs weigh in at 3525 lbs. Supra MKIVs weigh 3515lbs.

My SVX tipped the scale at the drag strip at exactly 3700lbs. with me in it, -165lbs= 3,535lbs with two 12inch subs in a box and managed a 15.5sec run that day.

Makes sense. I believe the 3525 is the wet weight, so your subs prolly weigh around 10 lbs.

Depending on the trim level I think it should weight more. I've always seen curb weight of 358x for the '92 LS-L. How much would 18 gallons of gas weigh? I think it would be significant.

I sure hope his subs weight more than 10 lbs. even without the box or amp.

All the specs I've seen of the LSL weigh it at 3525 lbs.

Well I know one way you could cut weight would be the seats. The stock power drivers seat is REALLLLLY heavy. I have a 1997 BMW 328i power drivers seat in my basement; it weighs EIGHT FIVE POUNDS, and thats in a rather tiny BMW.

I'm guessing the stock SVX seat weighs about 100lbs.

Anyway.

Ya I have the L-type R trim level, vroom vroom. No over weight sun roof or power seats here. Now that I,m getting my 5 speed back in it this weekend, I,ll be able to bring it to the strip this summer and see what it runs now and run it across the scale to see how much weight it lost. I have also removed the spare tire and jack since then because I couldn't get to it if I had to anyway.

re: limiters

hmm..i guess it could have been limiters. i'll check it out if i get the time. see if i can take a integra for a spin. i hate the integras. i think they look ulgy. i also hate the 350zx look. i don't think the 350zx looks aggressive or looks different than many of the other cars that are out now. but what do i know? it's the 'in' style thing. too bad i'm i don't follow the 'in' things.

oddly enough, after totalling the new rental volvo (which i now dislike also for some unknown reason ) between greenville and columbia, sc. i rented the last car on the lot...a neon. although a neon is not top on my list of preferred cars, i give it this....that damn thing took me from spartanberg airport in south carolina to charlotte, nc + charlotte, nc to birmingham, al + birmingham, al to atlanta, ga for around 20 dollars. total drive time about 10 hours at 70+ mph.

wish our svx's could do that

The Z is the best looking of the group, compared to the G35 and the new Maxima. Still haven't seen a good pic of the R35 yet. I wonder how long before Nissan releases an AWD Maxima?

I can tell you for a fact the the non-power seats are no where near 100 lbs. I removed both seats when my gf spilled a super big gulp all over the passenger side floor. The seats are mostly foam. I think they were about 40 lbs/ea at the max. Probably closer to 30 lbs/ea. The power equipment will add some weight. I'd guess 50 lbs total for the power driver seat. The passenger seat I believe is not power on any model.

Yeah I'd say 50lbs or less for the power drivers seat. I've had it out before (here's proof) and had to carry it back and forth, up stairs, etc when I did the leather replacement a few years ago. It wasn't that hard to do and I'm not a bodybuilder.
