NYC sucks

So this past weekend I had plans to go to Connecticut to a mini Subaru meet. My friend has never been in Manhattan before, and it's been too many years since I visited so I decide to stop on the way and show her around. I find a parking garage and we do the tourist around Rock' Plaza thing for a couple of hours and then head up to Moosey's place.

After a good time with some Sooby folk I walk out to my SVX and notice something funky with the front fender. I get closer and see a huge dent in the drivers fender between the wheel and the door, and a few strips of missing paint on the plastic body molding

It was pushed in, not scraped, so It was done while it was parked. Now I did stop at a rest area along Rte 95 in CT, and after getting to the meet, Melissa took the car down to the Dunkin Donuts for some coffee, but I am 99% sure that this was done by the as**ole valets in the garage. When I picked up the car, they drove about 20 feet past me to a spot where I couldn't walk up from the side, and the one guy was making a comment something like "there it is, good as new"

Tonight I pulled the fender liner and was able push and massage the sheet metal back into place, but, there are two small creases in the steel, and the stripes on the plastic still stand out

My SVX wasn't flawless, it had it's share of dings and chips when I bought it, but still... PEOPLE SUCK

Hey Jesse,
Did you notice it at Paul's when we went over to check it out?

I didn't notice it till after you were gone and we were getting ready to leave.

No, it was pretty dark over there and even if I did I would have assumed it was there before. I just noticed you metioned it on USMB but I didn't know what you were rambling about.

Let me tell ya...Manhattan is crazy! They pull up on you like you aren't even there, I was almost convulsing at times during to drive to the garage...just crazy! The men at the garage were acting shady when we went to retrieve the car...dropping it off the one driver almost backed into us with an SUV. Then when they took the car to park it they backed it into a spot (I was very nervous about leaving the car heck I park it towards the back of the parking lot at the grocery store), but when we returned after our "tour" the car wasn't were they originally parked it...it was at the other end of the garage. They pulled it up to the ramp and commented on <something to the effect of> "it's still here and nothing wrong". The only thing is how they parked it was up a ramp and close to the wall so you had to get in and get out of the way of the other vehicles approaching.
We stopped at a rest stop to get something and Hocrest noticed a ?black vehicle parked kinda cockeyed on the drivers side. There was no car at any time on the drivers side at the coffee shop in Conneticut.
The mishap happened at A) the crazy drive through Manhattan (this choice is doubtful because we would have def. noticed it then) B) Parking Garage C) The rest stop.

NY is no place for a Soob...now I see why the high percent of cars traveling there are beat up cabs.

Smiles,
Melis

Well me living in the Bronx is also hell. I dont think its as bad as some parts of Manhattan. Today I was on first ave and 23rd st and I wanted to cut a cab off and BAMMMM!! I said what the F*ck oh man please no, then I feel the drivers side drop, then I pull over, yup, it had a missile hole on the side, I open the trunk no jack or lug wrench, how convenient. My friend came over and we swapped in the big yellow donut and I went home doing 50. DAMN NYC PAY FOR A NEW TIRE>>>>>>!!!!
