Re: Anyone else ever get this feeling?

After a 2 hour delay waiting for a plane in the morning to go to work, a 1 hour delay when trying to come back to Atlanta, and driving a Dodge Stratus rental, don't you just love the feeling of walking out to the parking deck to see your beautiful svx welcoming you back home? You gently push the button and she goes BEEP! You hop in head home and stop along the way to pick up a nice prime rib from the local rib house, go home and kick back.

I love coming home .

Anyone else go out of town often and forced to drive the inferior rentals? Do you feel the same when you get back?

I knew I should have never told my boss that I rented a convertible mustang last time I was in Flordia!

I know a group of IT guys that rent out bikes (yeah Harleys) on business trips. Their execuse is that with bikes, they can get there quicker and park for cheaper rates.

It works all the time for them. But then again, they work for one of the third largest law firm in Chicago (something like 5th largest in the world).

nice, bikes

that'll be the day. after my boss found out that i totalled my svx, he said, "you better not die on me. i'd come to your funeral, pull you out of the coffin, and beat you back to life."

feels good to be wanted.

Harry (sheds a tear as his hand is out waiting for a fat paycheck).

btw - my boss is one of those people that can make a grown man cry, but damn, he's pretty damn good at execution. lots of people don't like him and complained which led to anger management and sensitivity classes. it cracks me up though to see a grown men get teary eyed. he's never done that to me though, but then again, i don't screw up and i get the job done. being competent and keeping keeping good documentation along with correspondence is the key .

now if i can only pay my bills on time

Usually, when I go out of town on business, I'm traveling with our production crew, which means we either rent a van or take a taxi to the property where we're basically sequestered for the duration. Occasionally we'll get to go off property for dinner. So, when I return home, after NOT DRIVING for about a week --- YESSSSS! I love coming home to my gleaming Pearl beauties.

I travel about once a month. My last trip was 26 days. It was a great feeling. I got home the SVX sitting in the driveway. I freshened up from the flight , strolled out to go get some lunch (came in on the Red Eye from San Fran) unlock the door, climbed in, fastened the seat belt, put in the key, turned the key.......... The the car responded with a wooou...wooou.... klick, klick......... NOOOOOOOOO, dead battery nuts. Took me 3 hours to track someone down to jump me.

I get a little extra money I'm gonna buy a charger for when I go on long trips.

yeah those are great $60 bucks, but I wonder if they'll still be charged up after a month though .

Can't you disconnect the battery before you leave and it'll still remain fairly charged when you get back? Also I read somewhere that there are some battery chargers that either:

1. charge you car and keep it's charge via cigarette ligher (not quite sure if that is actually real. kinda skeptical on that one).

2. but if you park in a sunlit place, the solar charged ones are really nice. i was wondering through a closed dealer on one sunny sunday afternoon (don't ask how i got into the locked area...just remember that i'm a hacker/cracker) and saw some new cars that had these nice little aluminum sheets either in the back window area or the dash of the window area. apparently there were a few wire leading from the contraption and (a little hazy) but I believe the wires went to an adapter that plugged into the cigarette lighter. It definitely looked like a solar energy gathering device, but does it charge the battery through the cigarette lighter? that i don't know. neat to see something i've never seen before.

wonder how much that costs.
