Thats pretty wild. Putting the best engine Subie ever made in the bad boy huh. I don't know about the straight axles though. Even Jeep is realizing that you get so much more out of an indie rear. What are you doing Sunday? Paul (moosens over on the Ultimate Subaru Website) is having a bbq clean out his garage day. Plenty of old school parts to go around! You need to provide your own beer though. If your intereste check out the meet and greet section over at the USMB or I can get you some directions. Looks like there will be 10 or so there.

Ya, I just got that DL thing this morning, it just poped in to my head. At first I thought ( no it's a GL), anyway the BBQ sounds like fun, but I sadly need all the extra spare time I can get, to work on the Loyal so I can get my kids out of the SVX (i'm sick of washing fingerprints of the windows). Jeep is just finding out that independant suspension is better for a vehicle that most people will never take off road, but straight axle is king for off-road and you can't beat a cheap old Cherokee for a good trail rig. I'm just a Subafreak so I wheel a Subaru.

Of course, a complete motor rebuild would be really nice about that time too.... if only that green spendy stuff was more plentiful.
Hey Porter, have ya seen any really F***ed up WRX trannys come into the service department yet??? I was thinking about the whole company called 300 below and sending gears up there and getting them Cryogenicly frozen... Probably be cheaper to just get an STi tranny or Forester Tranny... That would be awesome if you had a 5MT before the Dragon next year!!! Howmany would that make there.... Me, You, Huck, Harry(maybe).... That would be cool!!!!

Dude, I appreciate the kudos. Here is the skinny. Air density is where the secret is. At my home track, I pull 16.1 thru 16.7 times. This is at 2800 feet REAL altitude and ranges in extreme to 6000+ feet in CORRECTED air density altitude. Temperature plays a lot with the air density, but so does the relative humidity as well as the barometric pressure. I have taken my car to Seattle and run at near sea level and pulled 15.6 thru 15.7 times. All in the same car with no changes. (Yes, still running an auto). So, mid to high 15s are quite possible on the auto. There are many other variables I have found in running the SVX in my years. If anyone is serious, contact me and I will share this information (as long as you stay away from my home track where I am still a feared threat! Yes, even to the 12 and 13 second Mustangs)
