97 Leg. Outback wagon - Anyone need any cheap parts before I scrap the car?
Title says it all. Got an offer for $500 scrap if I drive the car in. If anyone needs any parts that are non essential to me driving the car in, post here let me know. Open to reasonable offers. Or if anyone wants to take the whole car for parts.... I accept paypal, and ship via UPS or priority mail, whichever is cheapest.
I'd sell the entire car for $1000 cash OBO. I have over double that into the car, and trade in is still $1700 with the high miles, so...

Radiator was replaced with a brand new one ~7000 miles ago. Newer brakes/rotors at all 4 corners (~80% pad left). I do not have records for any of this, however I can put you in touch with the gentleman that owned the car previous to me and he can confirm.

I could use the windshield if it's oem and weather band radio and some body parts depending on your color

Re: 97 Leg. Outback wagon - Anyone need any cheap parts before I scrap the car?
Sounds like a good parts car, and a great scrap price. I paid $1200 for my 99 Outback with 195k last year, now has 218k, so its got plenty of life left in it, just got to fix all the oil leaks. Mine has the weather band radio, but the light burnt out, cant see a damn thing at night

As for the radio, I wonder if that is a common problem. The backlight for the display on mine is burnt out too. AFAIK its not the weatherband radio, but it may well be (if the original died and someone put a boneyard one in from a Limited that is). Scrap price, I had to shop the car around to the different scrappers to find that good of a price, and its only valid if I drive the car in. If they pick up, its $350 (even though they say free towing ). I have to drive an hour away as well to get that price. Called 5 places yesterday morning and basically pitted each of their offers against each other. Just like dealing with a stealership for a new car lol

If it has heated seats I'd be interested in the heating elements and the wiring harness.

Re: 97 Leg. Outback wagon - Anyone need any cheap parts before I scrap the car?
What he said
Think I found my replacement Subaru, and if I'm correct its a somewhat rare Limited model. Its a 98 Outback Limited with AWP, but both sunroofs are electric, which from my understanding is a factory only option (something to do with how the front roof is stamped in during production as opposed to being added later). 270k highway miles but runs strong. Definitely need to check head gaskets and timing kit. Hoping to make a trip to check it out Saturday. With my limited budget, I can't be choosy for the most part, and higher mile stuff is all I seem to find. Have another iron in the fire (per se) on a 97 Legacy Brighton with warranty and 140k miles around the same price, however its a bit far for me to go check out (located in Scranton, and I have no one willing to taxi). Would prefer this as my first choice, may still end up with it if I can find a ride
