Tie Rod Ends

Looking around for a pair of new tie rod ends. Prefer to buy new OE, but looks like NLA. I also tried aftermarket and was not able to find any in stock.

I appreciate any leads.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

Thanks Blacky. I had posted in that thread as I was excited to see the interchange for the inner tie rods. I am hoping to track down the outer ends as I see the Beck Arnley appears to be out of stock most places (101-4470 & 101-4469). I have an inquiry in with my local parts store to check with Beck Arnley.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

For now, tie rod of my SVX is fine, but it's a consumable item, so I'm interesting in it's available or not.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

I was able to find one right side tie rod end and source it from a Subaru dealer who had it on the shelf. Keeping my eye out for an OE left side to have for when mine wears out.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

I contacted Beck Arnley, who stated that 101-4469 & 101-4470 are NLA.

Now its time to look at alternatives.

Thank you for your update.

So, we maybe able to contact Sankei to find compatible parts though it has no SVX parts officially. This is the company which I bought inner tie-rod.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

Good idea. I looked around online and measured the new OE right unit once it arrived. 14mm x1.5 thread coming in from the inner tie rod, 12 x 1.25 going into the hub.

By crawling the 555 parts listings, and ebay, I'm guessing 555 Sankei SE-t021L & se-t021R may work. These are parts to fit the 05-11 Yaris and others, one OE Toyota part that comes up similar is 45047-59135.

I found a se-t021r on ebay for $26, so I'm ordering that to compare side by side with the new OE unit I got from Subaru. I also have a replacement steering rack off my car that I can play with/test fit.

I'll post my findings once the part arrives.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

Excellent. I'm closing in on 300,000 km and I know my front end needs work.

If SE-T021L/R fits to SVX, very good news for us. It is used so many kind of Toyota like AQUA. AQUA is called PRIUS C in U.S and is one of Toyota's most sold cars. It is highly unlikely that this component will disappear from the world.

It sells for around JPY 2,000 (USD14) in Japan and is easily available.

Re: Tie Rod Ends

I am not sure this Yaris tie rod will work. It appears to be a couple inches too long, but I will check the adjustment range and report back.

How long does it seem?

It may be adjustable if it is less than 1 inch.
If it's too longer, you may need to replace it with a shorter inner tie rod.

And....

https://size.name/en/products/45046
According this, spec of 45047-59135 you bought are as follows.

LT(full length):173 mm
th(tie rod thread):FM14X1.5R
C(cone diameter):12.6 mm
cr(cone slope):1/6
tp(finger thread size):MM12X1.25R

However, th shoud be MM16x1.5R. Isn't right?

Re: Tie Rod Ends

I need to use the SVX tomorrow, so I connected the battery and started the engine for the first time in a while.

When I lifted the car up and did a quick inspection, I measured the length of the tie rod end.

LT(full length):145 mm
th(tie rod thread):FM16X1.5R
tp(finger thread size):MM12X1.25R

Suitable tie-rod end seems as follows.

https://size.name/en/catalog/rulevye...9&th=FM16X1.5R

If it's BMW or Toyota, Toyota may be more likely to fit it.
45046-49125(TOYOTA) SE-T491L(555-SANKI)
45047-49055(TOYOTA) SE-T491R(555-SANKI)

It's relatively cheap, so I'll give it a try. I'll report back if it seems like a good fit.
