The problem is you will not be going straight!

On another note I just tried turning my Koni's (fronts anyway) to full soft for the winter.

Just a thought
I just love it when people say crap like this. this is the kind of crap people were saying about my project when i started it. all this stuff you HAVE to have.

Or the ability... When you are not paying a shop to do it, things tend to be quite a bit cheaper

sams right, people tell you what everyone else thinks they know. the biggest problem with the stock tranny is........ anybody want to say? the valve body. there are a few company's that make new ones for about 600 with an exchange. they are a lot of cars with the 4eat tranny that last forever. change the valve body and make sure you have a cooler that is up to the task. i'll be sure to let everybody know how much abuse the stock tranny with a few minor upgrades will take.

or for less than 2 grand get rid of the auto and get a 5mt... I Hate automatic transmissions...too much guess work for me... I like simplicity of synchros(burned out or not ) gears not selonoids valves and clutches...but that is just me

yeah, i agree. but anyone can do a auto swap, the 5mt conversion is a bit more involved. for his twin turbo application i would assume he would want longer gears. thus, the stock auto. it would be very rough to drive a 4.44 with more than 350 hp.

i thought auto's suck to, i have a mustang in the low 12's on street tires with a tremec tko 600 5 speed. well low 12's are my best, usually it's a high 12, maybe low 13 second car. with an auto you have consistant runs, shifting, and et's. well it's a lot easier to acheive consistant et's with an auto. my subbie will stay an auto, stock gearing, with lsd up front and a spool in the back.

As far as I know, no one makes a front LSD insert for the Subaru 4eat.

hmm, i haven't looked that far into the front part, i know i can get a spool set up for the rear, i can make that if i had to. i kind of figured that someone would make an lsd for the front seems how it's a farely common setup. i'll have to research it more when i get to that point.

If you can find something, that would be cool. I looked pretty hard, and found only the lame "phantom grip" diff insert. No viscous, no clutch, no torsen (incl helical and cam type).
