Phast,

I feel the same way. Xmas is certainly not helping me at all right now. Only person that I have read about having great success pushing the power level of the SVX is PoweredX2 on nitrous. This is not to take away from the turbo and/or supercharger builds.

Looking forward to seeing some results and success from everyone here.

Lol @ the Supra jokes. Only cars I know of that run like 120mph traps just to run 12s.

Myx, Nitrous is a funny little gas

I will get the kinks worked out as soon as I get past this little financial downset. Right now I am focusing on keeping the car, and intact. Selling the turbo kit would be a quick way to fix this, but the hundreds of hours I have into it would be gone as well.

The way I have always heard the Supra Joke:

Question: what do a 400, 600, and 800whp supra have in common?

Answer: They all run 11's

This is true. But the 60-200mph acceperation is nothing to LOL about, regardless of the driver (from my experiance the issue with an 800hp supra running an 11) Built automatics will get a lot more spool, and can be the biggest factor

I just noticed my Chuck posted a link to full-race. The owner, Geoff, is friends with my best friend's older brother. I think I just got me an idea...

Pardon me if I'm saying something that's already been said, but why is it that people seem to have such poor luck with getting crazy power out of these motors? I am a fairly new member here as well, and I was frankly kind of surprised to see so few people with f/i.

My plans for my car include:

ecu tune 2v7 & associated electronics
make some pipes and intercooler
some kind of GOOD turbo that will run maybe 5-8 psi with an internal wastegate

Seems like I could have at LEAST 220 awhp. pretty easily there and still have a "fairly" reliable daily driver for less than $3k in QUALITY (no ebay) parts.

I do realize that these are not the kind of dyno-shattering numbers you are talking about now, so sorry to trail off in that regard, but it just makes me wonder why more people don't go this route! I certainly plan on it!

I would imagine that the car would run low 14's all day, it would launch like crazy, and probably still get 25 mpg...

People guide me in a better direction if I am heading in a bad one!

Seem like it would be easy to moderate to do to me. I say go for it.

Design a header to uppipe,
Turbo,
Downpipe with custom exhaust
turbo to throttle body and maf sensor
Have wastegate for 5psi of boost
An SAFC
Odds and ends like oil and cooling water to/from turbo
Maybe turn fuel pressure up a tad and you are set.

No biggy! People do this all the time.

Yes I blew a ring land at this boost level. That is why it won't work without new pistons. It seriously reduces the life of the engine. This is a common subaru problem. Weak pistons.

Why is my car still running, with more boost? Before going into storage compression on all cylinders was well above maint level. You were running without software for so long.....no offense but its just not fair to make an applicable claim to all FI subarus. IF you detonate, you will break a ring land. In the case of our pistons, you are more likely to do so because it is not as strong. But to say that it was the boost that blew your crown, is ****.

May I ask, Phil, what you have for engine management? ecutune? fmu? standalone? Just curious!

I wish I had some experience with this on the SVX. I simply can not argue with what you have been through, You have certainly gained my respect as far as this is concerned.

As for weak pistons on Subarus in general, maybe you have a point. Weak is subjective. I can say that I have not had any problems with any of my other subarus as far as the pistons go when using forced induction and/or nitrous. Did PoweredX2 have problems with his pistons when using nitrous? I would think in some cases nitrous is even more brutal on the pistons than turbocharging.

I have ecutune stage 2 (z32 fuel system), with a 4:1 Rising rate fuel pressure regulator to keep things in the 11.3-11.5 range.
